Starboard: Summer Regatta is a sailing game for iPhone, iPad and Mac. It has no accounts, no sign-in and no ads, and it does not track you.
What the game sends. To understand how people play, the game sends anonymous usage events: for example starting Sailing School, starting or finishing a race, picking a sail, or opening the map, together with the state of the game at the time (such as races won or the sail set). Each event also carries basic technical details: app version, device model, operating system version, language and screen size.
No identity. Each installation gets a random identifier, which is not linked to you, your Apple Account or your device’s identifiers. Deleting the app resets it. The game does not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, photos or advertising identifier, and nothing is sold or shared for advertising.
Who processes it. The events are stored by PostHog (https://posthog.com/privacy) in the European Union, which processes them on our behalf. PostHog receives your device’s IP address when events arrive, as any internet service does, but it is not stored with them.
Purpose and legal basis. The events are used only to improve the game, based on our legitimate interest in understanding how it is played (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
Data retention. Events are kept for up to two years and then deleted.
On your device. Your progress and settings are saved on your device only (and in your device’s backups). They are never sent anywhere.
Purchases. In-app purchases are handled by Apple.
TestFlight. If you test a beta through TestFlight, Apple shares the details of your invitation, crash reports and any feedback you send with us, as described in Apple’s privacy policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/). They are used only to fix and improve the game.
Your rights. Because the events can’t be linked to you, we can’t look them up by person, but you can stop them being linked to each other at any time by deleting the app. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at contact@sergheev.com.
